If you would like personalized assistance with an Accommodation or Exemption request to either a school or employer, we offer the following services:
In a Basic Consultation, you can explain the details of your request, what you need help with, and discuss any questions you have about your specific school or employer. You will receive a follow-up email summarizing all points and recommendations.
When you schedule a Custom Consultation, there will be a questionnaire where you can provide more specific details to your request. The answers will be throughly reviewed, and you will be contacted with any follow-up questions prior to the appointment. The full time of the Custom Consultation will be dedicated to discussing the unique details of your case, and you will receive a follow-up email summarizing all key points and recommendations.
After a detailed questionnaire regarding your request is completed, we will custom draft your request for accommodations to your school or employer based on your individual disability and/or diagnoses. This includes two supporting documents, such as a Declaration or Affidavit from a physician, family member, or community member.
Includes a 20 minute consultation to review all documents.
If your school or employer has created a form that you must fill out in order to request either an Accommodation or Exemption, we will draft answers that are written to maximize the likelihood of approval. One supporting document is included, and it is $25 more for each additional supporting document. (I.e, a declaration from your Doctor or an affidavit from a family member that only needs to be signed.)
Includes 15 min consultation to review all documents.
These are more detailed templates than provided in our Free Resources that are tailored to specific disabilities and the accommodations most commonly associated with those conditions. This is designed for the person who already knows what accommodation they are requesting and already has or can easily obtain the necessary documentation, but would like a structure for the request specific to their disability to work with where they can simply plug in the missing information.
In the event your request is denied, we will draft and submit an appeal of the denial to your educational institution or employer. We can also appear on your behalf at administrative hearings or interviews in which you are questioned about your request.
Requesting Accommodations and Exemptions for children in K-12 is a very different process than requesting them in higher education and employment. In K-12, the child is placed on either an IEP ( Individualized Education Plan) or 504 Plan. Both are basically a unique curriculum tailored to the child's individual needs. Creating an IEP requires working with the school as well as the child's doctor(s).
Unlike Accommodation and Exemption requests, IEPs and 504 Plans cannot be drafted by anyone other than the IEP team at your child's school. However, you will want to know your rights and your child's rights regarding these plans, what your options are if there is a denial, and what to do if these rights have been violated by the school. You will receive a follow-up email summarizing all key points and recommendations.
Nearly all federal and state benefit programs require both a qualifying disability and the inability to work or a comparable financial need. Many of these benefits programs are also available for caretakers, who can apply on behalf of the person they are care-taking.We understand that the people most in need of assistance with obtaining these benefits are often not in a position to incur high out-of-pocket expenses. For this reason, VisAble Individuals offers these services at reduced pricing.
20 minutes to explain your situation and case, where we answer your questions to the best of our ability and provide feedback on available options with recommendations. Includes a follow-up email with a summary of key points.
File your first application or claim for any Disability Benefits program, including supporting documentation.
Draft and submit an appeal for denial of any disability benefits. This cost ranges and depends on the extent of the appeal and which agency the appeal is through.
